Acts 2:14 Maar Kefa het opgestaan met die elf en sy stem verhef en hulle toegespreek: Yehudiese manne en almal wat in Yerushalayiem woon, dit moet julle weet, en luister na my woorde. (But Kĕpha, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them, “Men of Yehuḏah and all those dwelling in Yerushalayim, let this be known to you, and listen closely to my words —– Acts 4:24 En toe hulle dit hoor, het hulle eendragtig die stem verhef tot Elohiem en gesê: Meester, U is die Elohiem wat die hemel en die aarde en die see en alles wat daarin is, gemaak het. (And having heard that, they lifted up their voice to Elohim with one mind and said, Yahweh, You are Elohim, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them).
1. WE DECLARE THAT THE PERIOD OF COUNTING TO THE DAY OF SHAVUOT HAS BEEN COMPLETED (Acts 2:1 And when the Day of the Festival of Shavuot had fully come (sumpleroo – fulfilled, when reckoned with other days), they were all with one mind in one place.
2. WE BELIEVE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS, SEEING THE FULFILMENT OF PROPHESY (Acts 2:16-17 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Yoel: And it shall be in the last days, says Elohim, that I shall pour out of My Spirit on all flesh). See Heb 1:1-2; 2 Pet 3:3-4, 8-9.
3. WE CHOOSE THE ONLY OPTION FOR TRUE SALVATION: CALLING UPON THE NAME OF YAHWEH (Acts 2:21 And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of Yahweh shall be saved. Notice the word “call” – 21 times in Acts – It is mostly translated in this way: Simon who was called Kefa, John who was called Mark, Yehuda who was called Bar-abba)
4. WE KNOW THAT Y’SHUA IS THE MESSIAH, SENT AND APPOINTED BY YAHWEH, THE ALMIGHTY (Acts 2:22 Men of Yisrael, hear these words: Y’shua of Natsareth, a Man from Elohim, have been pointed out to you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs which Elohim did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know). The feast of Shavuot was chosen by Yahweh to introduce Y’shua to representatives of the nations of the world (Acts 2:9-11).
5. WE REST IN THE EXPECTATION THAT YAHWEH WILL NOT ALLOW US TO SEE CORRUPTION (Acts 2:26-27 For this reason my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad, and now my flesh shall also rest in expectation, because You shall not leave my being in Sheol, nor shall You give Your set-apart One to see corruption —– based on Ps 16 where David had a vision of someone sitting at the right hand of the Almighty —– the true meaning of “rest”)
6. WE CONFESS OUR IMMERSION IN THE NAME OF Y’SHUA THE MESSIAH, FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN (Acts 2:38 And Kepha said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of Y’shua Messiah for the forgiveness of sins —– What makes the coming of Y’shua so special and different from other prophets and messengers? —– forgiveness and identification.)
7. WE REJOICE IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF BEING CALLED BY YAHWEH AND FILLED BY HIS SPIRIT (Acts 2:38-39 You shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit … this promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, as many as Yahweh our Elohim shall call —– Not only identification with Y’shua through baptism, but also, and above all, identification with Yahweh, because of what Y’shua has done —- nothing can draw us closer to Yahweh than being called by Him and filled with his Spirit!)
