DAY OF FORGIVENESS AND RESTORATION

alternate text
FORGIVENESS AND RECONCILIATION
Genesis 50:17-20 Please forgive our transgression and our sin … and Yoseph said to them, Do not fear, for am I in the place of Elohim? You intended evil against me, but Elohim intended it for good.
THE BROTHER’S REMORSE, AND YOSEPH’S WILLINGNESS TO FORGIVE – REFLECTING YAHWEH’S WILLINGNESS TO FORGIVE – PAVED THE WAY FOR COMPLETE RECONCILIATION

FORGIVENESS AND TRANSPARENCY
2 Kings 5:18 When my master (the King of Aram/Syria) goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the house of Rimmon; when I bow down in the house of Rimmon, Yahweh, please grant forgiveness to your servant in this matter.
NAAMAN REALIZES THAT HIS ACCEPTANCE OF YAHWEH AS THE ONLY TRUE ELOHIM, PUTS HIM IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION, AND HE ASKS (AND RECEIVES) FORGIVENESS, IN ADVANCE.

YAHWEH’S READINESS TO GRANT FORGIVENESS
Psalm 86:5 For You, Yahweh, are good, and ready to forgive, and great in kindness to all those who call upon You. Isaiah 30:18 Yahweh is waiting to show favour, He is waiting to take pity on you.
THERE IS NO GREATER MOTIVATION TO APPROACH YAHWEH IN REPENTANCE, THAN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HE IS READY TO FORGIVE AND WAITING TO GRANT US HIS FAVOUR.

FORGIVENESS AND BACKSLIDING
Psalm 78:37-40 Their heart was not steadfast with Him, they were not true to His covenant. They rebelled against Him and grieved Him in the desert! But He, the Compassionate One, pardoned them and did not destroy them, remembering that they were no more than flesh and a passing breath.
NOTICE HOW THE FACT THAT YAHWEH KNOWS OUR HUMAN NATURE ALL TOO WELL, COMBINED WITH HIS COMPASSION, MAKES IT “EASY” FOR HIM TO FORGIVE.

FORGIVENESS AND HEALING
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people upon whom My Name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I shall hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin and heal their land.
THIS IS YAHWEH’S RESPONSE, DIRECTLY AFTER SOLOMON’S HEARTFELT TEMPLE DEDICATION PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS OF THOSE WHO WOULD COME AND PRAY AT THE TEMPLE.

THE COMPLETENESS OF FORGIVENESS
Jeremiah 31:34 I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more; Micah 7:19 You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea; Isaiah 38:17 You have cast all my sins behind your back; Isaiah 43:25 I am He who blots out your transgressions.
YAHWEH’S FORGIVENESS IS COMPLETE AND HE WILL NEVER HOLD THOSE SINS FOR WHICH WE HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED FORGIVENESS, AGAINST US.

THE DYNAMIC NATURE OF FORGIVENESS
Jeremiah 5:7 Why should I pardon you for this?; 13:14 I shall not spare or pardon them; 21:7 He shall not have compassion on them. 31:34 I shall remember their sin no more. 33:8 I shall pardon all their iniquity. 36:3 I shall pardon their sin. 50:20 Their sins will no longer be found.
THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH IS ONLY ONE EXAMPLE OF THE FACT THAT FORGIVENESS ALWAYS REMAINS A POSSIBILITY AND IS NEVER EXCLUDED FROM THE HEART OF OUR FATHER.

Y’SHUA HOLDS THE KEY TO FORGIVENESS
1 John 1:3-9 Our fellowship is with the Father and his Son … There is no darkness in Elohim … the blood of his Son cleanses us from all sin … If we confess our sins, Elohim is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us and cleanse us.
EVEN THE BLOOD OF PRE-MESSIANIC OFFERINGS POINTED TOWARDS THE BLOOD OF Y’SHUA, THROUGH WHOM PEOPLE OF ALL AGES MAY RETURN BACK TO YAHWEH VIA FORGIVENESS OF SINS
