Please could you e-mail me your Ministries’ Statement of Beliefs.
I am not very fond of working with statements of belief, although I realise that Scriptures require that we should always be ready to give an answer to those who may be asking concerning the expectation that is within us (1 Peter 3:15). It is just that through the ages statements of belief have often developed into excuses to become static and insensitive towards anything “new” and revelational coming from Scriptures.
As you may have noticed, Elim Ministries try to refrain from falling into denominational patterns and have in fact moved away completely from the arena of typical christianity and church life. We do not deny for one moment that within the existing churches there are many areas where sincere people are really making a difference and certain elements of truth are being upheld. However, what we have learned from the Word of Yahweh, and what we have seen and experienced in both traditional and so called “modern” churches, have compelled us to “come out of her” (Revelation 18:4) and start afresh. Our main objective is to do whatever we can to restore (or rather: allow the Spirit of Yahweh to restore) the forgotten truths of the Word (both pre-Messianic and post-Messianic Scriptures) in people’s lives.
If you read through our website (especially the window containing our “View on Scriptures”, as well as some of the expositional articles under “Resources”) you will soon have a reasonable idea of what exactly we believe. If there are still things that you would like to know (perhaps some specific question(s) that you may have) please do not hesitate to contact me again.
If you don’t mind, you can also tell us a little bit more about yourself, especially in what part of South Africa you are living, so that we can pray for one another in a meaningful way and perhaps try to establish whether there are other believers close by with whom you may want to make contact.
